DAY<\/b> 2 Nairobi – Samburu (1 NIGHT)<\/b><\/h4>\n

\u00a0After breakfast, drive north along the northern foothills of Mount Kenya, a 17,058-foot dormant volcano with a glistening cap of ice and snow arriving for Lunch at Samburu Sopa. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in this\u00a0 grassland area, which forms the bridge between Kenya\u2019s lush south and parched north. Watch out for herds of impalas, Grant\u2019s gazelles, Elephants and African buffalo.<\/p>\n

Dinner and overnight at<\/b> Samburu Sopa<\/p>\n

DAY<\/b> 3 Samburu (1 NIGHT)<\/b><\/p>\n

A morning and afternoon game drive which includes outings at dawn, when animals are most active and afternoon when the light is best for photography. Return to the lodge for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Today you stay close to the Ewaso Nyiro River, where vast herds of plains game come to water, braving lions in the grass, leopards in the trees, and giant crocodiles. Stars of Samburu not easily seen elsewhere are the liver-red reticulated giraffe, the long-necked gerenuk antelopes, and the elegant grevy\u2019s zebra.<\/p>\n

DAY<\/b> 4 Samburu-Lake Nakuru (1 NIGHT)<\/b><\/h4>\n

Depart very early after breakfast with a brief stop at Thompson Falls to view the waterfalls and then make your way down to the Rift valley floor.<\/p>\n

Lunch<\/b> at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge<\/p>\n

After lunch take a leisurely drive through Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Nakuru’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here.<\/p>\n

DAY\u00a0\u00a0 5 Lake Nakuru-Maasai Mara (1 NIGHT)<\/b><\/h4>\n

Breakfast at your hotel and proceed to Maasai Mara National Reserve.<\/u><\/i><\/b> Kenya straddles the center of the Great Rift Valley, the vast prehistoric fissure that stretches from Jordan to Mozambique. From the North to the South of Kenya, the valley is lined with a series of freshwater and soda based volcanic lakes<\/i>. We shall have a stopover at the rift valley view point where you will have the amazing view of this great landscape.<\/p>\n

The jewel in Africa\u2019s crown, Maasai Mara<\/b>, is host to the most spectacular array of wildlife.\u00a0 Almost 600 square miles of open savannah, woodlands, and tree-lined river creates an eco-system support huge numbers of bird and mammal species.\u00a0 The western border of the park is the spectacular Siria Escarpment that, together with the acacia-dotted plains, creates scenery of stunning beauty.\u00a0 Lions are found in abundance throughout the park, as are elephant, giraffe, a variety of gazelle species, and zebra.\u00a0 Cheetah and leopard are also regularly seen and, if lucky, you may also find rhino. Game viewing is never dull in the Mara and patience is often rewarded with unique sightings: a pride of lion stalking their prey; a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree; a male wildebeest sparring to attract females into their harem; a herd of elephant protecting their young from opportunistic predators.\u00a0 The annual wildebeest migration traditionally is present in the Mara from July through September.\u00a0 During this time of year, nature\u2019s dramas unfold before your very eyes at every turn.\u00a0 besides wildlife, the Maasai Mara is also home to many members of the colorful Maasai tribe who may be seen around the borders of the park \u2013 Morans (warriors) loping across the plains, young boys herding goats, or elders grouped under a tree discussing matters of the day.<\/p>\n

DAY<\/b> 6 Full Day In Maasai Mara Game Reserve
\n<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

We will have the entire day to enjoy the Maasai Mara Game Reserve with both morning and afternoon game-viewing drives.\u00a0 Mara National Reserve offers an absolutely unique variety of animals. The reason is that this hilly region is both humid and fertile, and is crossed by the rivers Mara and Telek, full of crocodiles and hippos, which carry water the whole year round. The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forest, which gradually makes way for bush and grassland. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons why the Maasai Mara, which in fact is a continuance of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park, has the greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa. There is a particularly dramatic \u201cspectacle\u201d from July to November, the annual migration of huge herds of Gnus and Zebras. Predators such as Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards and Lions of course, closely follow these herds. Gigantic herds of over 200 buffaloes can also be observed. Plenty of food is available for elephants, giraffes, and the many species of antelopes and gazelles all of which can be observed in their natural habitat.<\/p>\n

Leaving Maasai Mara, head back to Narok, district headquarters of this part of Maasai land and then travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley \u2011 keep an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle \u2011 and head up the Rift Escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II.<\/p>\n
